This half-day webinar will focus on paradigms, methods, and practices of doing qualitative research in the social sciences. Topics including techniques in data collection and in establishing trustworthiness, validity, credibility, authenticity, and other quality standards in qualitative research will also be discussed. Specifically, this webinar aims to achieve the following objectives:
1. Familiarize the participants with the similarities and differences of qualitative and quantitative research with respect to epistemology, ontology, and methodology;
2. Discuss different strategies in conducting FGD and qualitative interview and in establishing quality standards of qualitative research; and
3. Present different approaches to qualitative research methods and data analysis.
