OUR ADVOCACY
WHY AGEING AND ELDERLY EMPOWERMENT?
The world's population is rapidly ageing. According to the World Health Organization, between 2015 - 2050, the number of people aged 60 years or older will rise from 900 million to 2 billion.

Population ageing, according to the United Nations Development Programme, has signicant implications on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Ageing cuts across the goals on poverty eradication, good health, gender equality, economic growth and decent work, reduced inequalities and sustainable cities. To achieve sustainable development outcomes, multisectoral action on ageing is needed.
LEAVING NO SENIOR CITIZEN BEHIND

A healthy and productive ageing population contributes to sustainable economic growth and increased well-being within all communities.

Communities need to create environments that are not only age-friendly, but also are abounding with opportunities for seniors.

WE BELIEVE IN FUNCTIONAL ABILITY IN OLD AGE. Maintaining functional ability in old age enables holistic wellbeing-- allowing for an older person's steady state of mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and social wellbeing. This includes being able to meet basic needs, establish and nurture relationships, and be vital contributors to society.

EMPOWERING SENIORS TO BE ACTIVE AND PRODUCTIVE

Retirement and the golden years is not the end of the road. Older adults can still be what they want to be and still do what they value post-retirement.
